Many people confuse a hypothesis with a prediction. how are they different? how are they similar?

A Hypothesis is an educated guess based on knowledge and facts that are presented to you, a Prediction is something that people think will happen whether they have facts or not. They are similar because in a way they both mean guessing. They are different because Hypothesis' have an EDUCATED guess on something and you try to use facts and basic knowledge to try and guess what would happen, Predictions are guesses on the future and they can either have facts or not.
