Production of an animal, which is genetically similar to a donor animal via somatic cell nuclear transfer is termed as reproductive cloning. In the process, the newly developed embryo is administered back into the uterine surroundings, where it can implant and develop.  

However, in the process it is essential to starve the donor cells before going through the process of reproductive cloning is as it forces the cells into the G0 stage so that the nuclei withdrawn from them will react towards the cytoplasmic growth signals.
