Binary fission is a type of cellular reproduction in which a cell divides into two.

Binary fission is a type asexual reproduction in which a parent cell divides into two new individuals (cells), that resembles the parent. This process occurs only in prokaryotes (bacteria and archeas), and it is fast and less complicated. Binary fission begins with the replication of DNA (genetic material), followed by separation of chromosome then cytokinesis.
