Lysis- when cells are hypertonic to an outside solutuon, water rushes into the cell, causing it to burst.
shrivel- when cells are hypotonic to an outside solution, water rushes out of the cell, causing it to shrivel
stays the same- when cells are isotonic to an outside solution, there is no net water movement into or out of the cell. : )
