Describe the potential risks from exposure to trace amounts of hormone mimics such as bisphenol.

Bisphenol affects the endocrine functioning and has been found to cause both female and male infertility. It has also been found to be a carcinogen and been related to prostate and breast cancer. Polycystic ovarian syndrome is also caused due to exposure to bisphenol. 

Mitochondria produce atp, a high energy compound. atp is used for all sorts of enzyme-mediated reactions, such as making proteins/nucleotides/etc, certain compounds cross the cell membrane, muscles move, etc.  without this source of energy, a cell will die. it will not be able to repair itself, defend against pathogens, etc.
