The carbon which is taken in by the plants for photosynthesis is stored in the plant structures in the form of polysaccharides like starch, cellulose etc. When plant fixes carbon in the form of glucose with the help of photosynthesis, some amount of glucose is used by the plants for the production of energy for its day to day activities  while the excess amount of glucose is stored by the plant for future use in special organelles known as amyloplasts. The photosynthate in the amyloplasts is then stored in various structures like roots, stems, tubers etc of the plant. Apart from this, some amount of glucose is also used by plant for making cellular structures like cellulose which is present in the cell wall of a plant cell.
