Producers use these sugars for energy and structure. Some of the sugars will be combined into long chains (like starch) which end up in tubers like potatoes or in seeds like wheat which we pick and grind up to make our delicious breads. Some of these sugars are nutritious for us to eat (starch, fruit sugar) while some are hard for humans to digest (cellulose) but are used for fiber to help keep our blood vessels and digestive tract healthy.
