There are 2 types of mutations: point-mutations and chromosomal mutations. A point
mutation is a mutation that occurs at a single base, resulting in
substitution. Chromosomal mutations are the process of insertions, deletions or
frameshifts in genetic sequences. In both situations, the order of DNA bases usually
changes. Consider your knowledge of mutations and genetics: How could mutations
affect the genetic traits of organisms? Use scientific vocabulary in your response.
