Why don’t rivers run straight?

Rivers don't run straight because water flows in the least path of resistance

Explanation:

It is small disturbances in topography that set off reactions that alter the path of a river Any kind of weakening of the sediment on one side of a river due to animal activity it could also be because of  soil erosion, or human activity can draw the motion of the water towards that side.

I have finished this project a few years ago, so here’s an answer I’ve gotten before.

The oxbow lake forms due to weathering and erosion that is caused by running water. Try to Imagine, a beaver, or a muskrat, etc, dug a hole, beneath the water, whilst the den may have been cozy, but the water would have weakened the soil, and as the dirt crumbles, the muskrats stay inside, wondering why the soil was loose, but it was actually the running water, which makes the den hollower, and even hollower, and the water grows faster, which at that point, the river, lake, etc, has half an curve, as the curve grows deeper, the water rushes faster, which hits the opposite end of the river, lake, stream, etc, the lake makes an curve, so that the curves continue to grow larger, by the weathering of water, which is pushing against it, until they grow even more “curvier,” and then more curvier, until they touch each other, and when that happens, the river, stream, etc, will follow the more straighter path, because rivers have feelings too, and they leave behind an oxbow lake, which I claim, that it’s an horseshoe, but why not, it looks like one, I can imagine it, the “horseshoe curve thingy, which can be known as a billabong, lanca, altwasser, lago en herradura, hoefijzermeer, bras mort, starorzecze, lago oxbow, ochsebei sei, just to name a few, so I hope the evidence is enough.
