Student A: Plants and fungi are similar in that organisms in both kingdoms have the following characteristics: grow from the ground, have a nucleus, are unicellular and multicellular, and have a cell wall. However, they differ because plants can make their own food, but fungi cannot.

Student B: Plants and fungi have some characteristics in common such as being multicellular, having a nucleus and a cell wall. But, fungi are different from plants because they get their nutrients from other organisms, but plants make glucose as their food.
