eggs help the sea turtles survive?

It helps the sea turtles to survive because there are seagulls and other predators at the beach, so they will eat at least some of the baby turtles. But, when there are a large amount, the predators will be distracted with another baby turtle and hopefully at least some will make it to the ocean.
