3.4.4 Why are cells so small?

2. What is the step or steps that make or break the results in this procedure? Consider how the sizes and shapes of the filter paper model cells affect the results. (3 points)
3. What did this lab teach you about how the size and shape of a cell affects the rate of diffusion of a substance into that cell? (3 points)
4. A living cell is not a simple geometric shape, like a sphere or a cube. What sort of weird cell shape might increase the ratio of surface area to volume? Would you be able to test this more complex shape in a experiment similar to this one? (3 points)
5. What other models could you make to represent a living cell? What sort of questions about a living cell could you investigate using you model? (3 points)
