Wild red wolves were once common in the southeastern United States. One graph below displays the population of red wolves in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina. The other displays the
population density of the county. In 1967, four wolves were captured, bred and then released
back into the wild in 1974. Make a claim on how population growth and development in the
county most likely contributed to the decline of the red wolf population. Back up your claim
with evidence and use scientific reasoning to connect the evidence to your claim.
