The Mass of the Objects The more mass two objects have, the greater the force of gravity the masses exert on each other. If one of the masses is doubled, the force of gravity between the objects is doubled.

Earth’s acceleration due to the force of the coin is far too small to notice because of Earth’s large mass. The acceleration due to Earth’s gravity is called g and is equal to 9.8 m/s2 at Earth’s surface.
