An example would be if all zebras in a population were exactly the same. No crossing-over means no genetic variability. A second zebra population has a lot of genetic variabilities because of a lot of their chromosomes crossed-over. Now pretend a diesase struck both populations. the population with genetic diversity will probably survive more than the population with diversity. This is because some of the zebras may have built an immunity to it when their chromosomes crossed-over. The population with no diversity will definitely die out if they didn't already have the immunity against the diesease built up.
