If all our cells have telomerase at high levels and the enzyme is in the active state then - the cells will keep dividing without reaching the limit and will multiply in numbers without stopping and become cancerous or immortal.

Telomerase is a ribonucleoprotein (RNP) which adds a specific telomere repeat sequence to the 3' end telomere. Telomerase is a terminal transferase enzyme.

If telomerase is absent then the cell division will reach its limit and the division process will stop.The action of telomerase is to keep the cells dividing and keep multiplying.This reduces the aging effect.In the human body, very few somatic cells have telomerase in the active state. telomerase protects the end of the chromosome from DNA damage. stem cells and cancer cells can synthesize their telomere with the help of the telomerase enzyme.Somatic cells don't have such type of role.

Thus, If all our cells have telomerase at high levels and the enzyme is in the active state then - the cells will keep dividing without reaching the limit and will multiply in numbers without stopping and become cancerous or immortal.

Telomeres are structures found at the end of the chromosomes. They are protective structures made of repetitive sequences. They protect chromosomes from damage or fusing with other chromosomes. As the cell divides and divides, telomeres shorten. When they reach a critical point, the cell stops dividing, and might even undergo apoptosis (die).

Telomerase is an enzyme that adds nucleotides to telomeres to prevent their shortening. If all our cells expressed telomerase, the telomeres would never reach the critical short length to stop cell division. Therefore, our cells would keep dividing forever!
