This leads to an unhealthy form of weight loss, as one also loses muscle mass and strength. There will be an insufficiency or imbalance of macronutrients, as fruits and vegetables do not contain fats and proteins which are essential for the body.

Fruits and vegetables may have vitamins, but they don't have anywhere close to enough fat or protein, even eaten in quantity. The body does not need as much as you might think to stay alive, but you omit them at your peril.
