Geothermal energy is the heat energy produced within the earth and is a renewable source of energy it has great potential that can be harvested and used by man.  Due to the frictional force and the gravity of the earth, a majority of heat is generated b the decay of the radioactive isotopes and thus there is a rise in the temperature f the earth with increasing depth.  The heat generated can be used to generate electricity for parking lots, sidewalks, and buildings. Low geothermal energy can be used to generate greenhouse gases and also be applied in industrial processes.  Other purposes include heating, cooking, and bathing purposes such as hot springs.
