If I were to choose an interesting plant or animal, I'd choose a "sloth."

Explanation:

A sloth is a mammal that can be found in tropical forests, particularly in the area of Central America and South America. It is a slow-moving animal (4 m/min. to be exact) that makes it prone to several dangers.  

Its slow movement may allow predators to take advantage of it because it can never run or save its own life. It is truly helpless in the face of predators.It spends most of its time hanging in trees; thus, it needs trees for survival. If a wildfire would burn the forest down, then the sloths will be homeless. Being on the ground makes them useless, since their body is made for climbing.It is also prone to being electrocuted, since it often mistook electrical lines as branches of trees.
