These two speeches are very different in their purpose, their tone and their use of rhetorical appeals. In the first example, the Queen uses extremely emotional and inflammatory language. She wants to convince the troops of her support and her dedication, and she also wants to demonstrate that she understands their fears and she suffers them equally. On the other hand, the second example is significantly less emotional and a lot more rational and pragmatic.
