A forest fire destroys trees in a large area. The forest rangers use the burned area to study the effect of different types of grasses on soil erosion. They
choose ten plots of ground that are the same size. Each of these plots receives
the same amount of sun. Each of these plots also has the same kind of soil and
the same slope. The rangers plant each with a different type of grass.
Measurements of soil erosion are made every week for the entire
summer. What hypothesis is being tested in this study?
If areas are burned over, then they will have greater erosion than forested areas.
If the slope of the land is changed, then soil erosion is affected.
Certain types of grass have a greater effect on reducing soil erosion than others.
O If grass is planted, then the amount of soil erosion will be reduced.

You have just sequenced a new protein found in mice and observe that sulfur-containing cysteine residues occur at regular intervals. what is the significance of this finding? it will be important to include cysteine in the diet of the mice. cysteine residues are required for the formation of α helices and β pleated sheets. cysteine residues are involved in disulfide bridges that form tertiary structure. cysteine causes bends, or angles, to occur in the tertiary structure of proteins.
