2) What adaptive strategies do you think lions would use to capture larger prey items? Use evidence from the video (Battle at Kruger) to support your answer.

Adaptive features of a lion that encourages it in chasing and killing preys are as per the following:  

1. A lion has a slight brown colored body, which causes it to hide in dry grassland for evading location by its prey.  

2. Identifies its prey from a distance and knows the locating prey prperly due to its own eyes situated in front.  

3. Solid paws, sharp teeth, and long paws help it to catch and slaughter the prey that helps in killing large preys as well.

Evidences:

Lions, who can tip the scales at around 300 pounds or thereabouts, regularly tackle the Cape preys like Buffalo, which can weigh in at a ton! They do this with a mix of savagery, team work, and enormous teeth, and claws and paws.  

They tail it and go for the back or the neck, throat, or face which gives them a quicker slaughter and more control. Additionally, they are out the strike zone of more prey which is the rear legs so they are more secure.
