The model is flawed because, improved quality of life should mean living sustainably. The quality of life is not improving if the LIMITED resources which sustain life are being enervated.

Besides, improvement in life is a relative term.

building of proper sewage system was done to ensure that the waste is carried away from the humans so that they do not get diseases from it.
