Differences in genes or their make up leads to differences in their traits or characteristics such as height, eye color, and intelligence. Genetics and its applications have a wide variety of applications serving the human mankind. This includes the detection of many diseases like cancer at early stages,treatment of diseases, forensic applications with DNA fingerprinting, Cross breeding in both plants and animals to obtain high quality products with desired traits like, taste, fertility, size, disease resistance etc. Genetic enineering and Biotechnology has carved a niche of its own in th field of Science these days and is a promising feild which would address many problems faced by the world today.
