Sharks of the Cenozoic were largely filter feeders, despite their intimidating teeth! Platybeldon had very large narrow lower tusks that were used for fighting sharks. Megaldon sharks could technically eat mastodons. Shark jaws were huge, disproprotionately so, compared to their bodies.
