Many different types of cells make up the human body. Each type of cell performs a unique and necessary function for the body.

For example, muscle cells have more mitochondria than other cells so that they can produce enough energy to allow movement. Red blood cells, on the other hand, do not have mitochondria at all in order to fit as much hemoglobin as possible into the cell.

Which of the following is true about the cells that make up a person's body?
A.
Each cell can change its DNA and turn into a new cell type based on the specialized function that the human body needs at the time.

B.
All of the cells start with the same general structure, but each cell is later modified by helper proteins in order to perform specialized functions.

C.
Each cell contains different DNA sequences based on the specialized function that the cell needs to perform in the body.

D.
All of the cells contain the same DNA, but different parts of that DNA are activated to determine the function and specialized structure of each cell.
