Both cycles are important to organisms.

All organisms need nitrogen to build proteins and DNA for new cells.  The movement of nitrogen between the environment and living things if the nitrogen cycle.  Besides water, the most common molecules  in living things are organic molecules - which contain carbon.  The exchange of carbon between the environment and living things is the carbon cycle.

when you breathe in, or inhale, your diaphragm contracts (tightens) and moves downward. this increases the space in your chest cavity, into which your lungs expand. the intercostal muscles between your ribs also enlarge the chest cavity. they contract to pull your rib cage both upward and outward when you inhale.
