The brain is the higher center which processes information received from the body via the spinal cord. After recieving the communication and processing the signals, it sends the response to the body via the spinal cord which is abundant with inter-neurons that link up different neurons and organs.

The peripheral nervous system is the part of the nervous system that involves innervation in all the body parts apart from the major brain region called the cerebrum and the spinal cord. It is divided into the somatic nervous system and the autonomic nervous system.

This is the part of the peripheral nervous system that is not under the control of the person and is controlled solely by the brain, majorly the hind brain that includes the medulla oblangata, the pons and the cerebellum. It controls functions such as breathing, the heart beat, dilation and constriction of blood vessels and other hollow tissues, control of glands and muscles of internal organs. It is even further divided into the sympathetic and the parasympathetic nervous system which is just the division according to different innervation of organs with involuntary actions.
