What stage of cellular respiration produces pyruvate as a product?

Glycolysis is the first stage of cellular respiration in which 2 molecule of pyruvate is produced from the partial oxidation of the glucose molecule. The process of glycolysis occurs in the cytoplasm of the cell and does not require oxygen.

As glycolysis does not require oxygen it is the common process that occurs in aerobes and anaerobes. In glycolysis, glucose is converted into 2 molecules of pyruvate and give rise to 2 molecules of ATP and 2 molecules of NADH.

Then the pyruvate gets fully oxidized in the Kreb cycle to produce more energy in the form of ATP and NADH. Therefore glycolysis is the stage of cellular respiration produces pyruvate as a product.
