I think i'll eat them, if it's scientifically proven that it is non-toxic for humans. Well, for the environment, there will be some negative impacts for the insects. They cannot eat these kind of plants anymore. If they can't eat, they will die otherwise the species will be extinct. If the plants which bees feed on are affected, the bees will not have enough to eat, enough to make honey and can no longer gather pollen from flower to flower. If the bees die, the plants cannot transmit their pollen and reproduce well, then they will be no more fruits or vegetables for us and animals. If i return to the insects, there is some animals that eat the insects! Birds, small rodents, omnivorous, insectivores... If they lose this source of food they'll migrate or they'll die. If there are fewer herbivores or other animals, predators will not have much to eat, they will turn off too. Small changes can bring big changes in one ecosystem. About society, well, people will think that it is a good idea cause insects are '' bad '' for our fruits and vegetables. Maybe the money will be less waste if insecticides are now useless. But the mere fact of inserting DNA genes in plants are quite expensive. Only large companies of agriculture could have the luxery of paying it. So i end this by concluding that yes, it could be beneficial to us, humans but i think it will be long-term negative for the environment.
