Wisdom teeth are the third and final set of molars that come in during the late teen years or early twenties in humans. In some cases, these teeth come in without problems, but often they have to be removed due to misalignment in the jaw (i. e., coming in horizontally, angled toward the tongue, etc.). Removal of these teeth does not cause any long-term complications with regards to eating in most cases.
