If the amount of progesterone in the blood remained at the level seen in the beginning of the follicular phase for 6 straight months, what would the effect be on menstruation?

Menstruation will  disrupted.. This question forms the basis of application of progesterone pill in birth control. If the level is sustained from the follicular phase; together with oestrogen, progesterone suppresses  ovulation the  releases of oocyte(eggs).Therefore with ovulation suppressed, there will be no menstruation.

Furthermore,since it is  the non- implantation of  unfertilised egg, and the collapse of the prepared   uterine walls in anticipation of implantation that leads to menstruation, therefore if there was no egg available these sequences of events will not occur; no  shedding  of uterine wall  to  produce blood as menstruation.

Therefore a woman that takes progesterone pills to prevent pregnancy;only need to  take this pills at fixed time everyday to disrupts the follicular phase so that ovulation is suppressed. However it is advisable to take it another contraceptive pills, because of its 48hrs effective periods.
