Other reserves are in the skeletal muscle protein which starts releasing gluconeogenesis. Another reserve is in the tissues, that uses their fat and ketone bodies (which contain glucose). All these processes start “sucking” all the energy from the rest of the body and that is how the body starts losing weight.
