An unknown alien body visits earth. scientists study it to determine if it is alive and
notice the following things about it:

. it does not grow or develop
. it does not maintain homeostasis
it can adapt to its surroundings
. it uses energy
based on these observations, is this alien living or not?
it is living because it is made of cells, uses energy, and reproduces
it is living because it has all the characteristics of life
it is non-living because it does not have all the characteristics of life
