ostrich species of each sort have advantage in both agriculture and aquaculture. for example, the fecus of foregut fermenters like cow are used as fertilisers as they are rich in nitrogen. the excretory material of midgut fermenters are rich in microbial flora while faeces of hindgut fermenters such as rabbits are rich in volatile fatty acids, vitamins b and k.
