They can see ultraviolet and green light with the help of special pigments in their eyes. They use this light-reflecting vision to recognize and attract their mates for pairing, hunting, preying, and to recognize their rivals.

Spiders detect polarized light with which they navigate and hunt.

Further, they are fluorescent arthropods with ‘light-reflecting crystals’ called the tapetum which gives their eyes a shiny silvery appearance. They are provided with multiple eyes according to their species.
