What are the benefits of cell division in somatic cells?

(i assume it is the fact that the daughter cells will be genetically identical but if anyone has any other ideas it will be well appreciated)

Somatic cell division plays an important role in division of body cells. They help in healing and repairing the damaged cells. cell division is of two types, Mitosis and meiosis. Mitosis replicates and results in two identical daughter nuclei (genetically identical). Apart from these, they also act as  adult stem cells which plays a major role in healing the damaged cells or repair the damaged cells. somatic cells are found all over your body except the germ cells.
