Really it depends on the specific reaction you're talking about. But generally speaking the goal of hydrolysis is to break apart a larger molecule into two smaller ones by adding a water molecule.

3: it is the same for all living things (plants and animals). it also includes very tiny organisms that our eyes cannot see. they are known as microorganisms, and include viruses, bacteria and fungi.

i believe it's c. the trait for large beaks will be passed on to future generations through natural selection.

since eventually smaller beaks would have to find another source of food or even eventually just die out from the lack of food.
