In Palisade mesophyll , part of the leaf photosynthesis takes place.

Explanation: Palisade mesophyll layer located just beneath the epidermis layer. Palisade layer consists chloroplast with chlorophyll  , which absorb the major part of  sun light for the process  of photosynthesis. Glucose is the end product of photosynthesis , which is then used for vital processes in the plant.

Spongy mesophyll also play important role in the process of photosynthesis as it allows the exchange of gases in photosynthesis.
