Why do scientists publish their findings in scientific journals?

I think the answer is C because it makes most sense to me, A doesn't really seem like a reasonable answer, B and D also show that basically scientists work for their whole life just for money but not to help humanity and things like that.

therefore, what enabled the old regime to maintain as long as it did was private property.
