This new method if identification uses DNA profiling instead of fingerprints in order to identify an individual. Every person's DNA characteristics are unique, the same way the fingerprints are.

For this method, DNA strands are separated through the use of special chemicals in order to reveal the unique parts of the genomes. This results, as shown in the image, in a unique pattern of stripes that can be compared and matched against other samples.
