Anaerobic respiration is respiration that doesn't require oxygen for example , when you run.

Anaerobic respiration happens whilst running as you can't breathe as fast and as much as your body requires you too. So when you get a cramp/stitch this shows that there is a build up of lactic acid. After you have finished running, you breathe faster and in short bursts as your body is now aerobically respiring again.
