Will choose which two layers are approximately the same age?

The answer is; The bottommost layer in core sample 1 and the topmost layer in core sample 2.

This is because the physical properties of the layers look the same and in addition, they have the same fossils embedded in them. This means that the layers formed in the same time period when the cephalopods species existed (this can be determined by the mollusk shells fossils embedded in these layers).
