Correct Genetics

Gregor Jonathan Mendel was a German scientist who is also known as the father of genetics. He worked on pea plants and gave rules of heredity which now known as Mendelian laws of inheritance.

He selected seven contrasting character of pea plants which are : plant height,  color and pod shape, flower position and color, seed shape and color.

He take seed color as an example and showed when true breeding yellow pea and true breeding green pea were crossed they always give a yellow seeds. But in next generation green peas is produced in the ratio of 1:3. Based on this he gave the term recessive and dominant.
