The important steps of a kidney transplant is to first, find a donor so admittance to the hospital of both the patient and donor will proceed. Second procedure is patient preparation. During patient preparation, a routine physical exam, blood work, chest x-ray and sometimes even an EKG or other tests should be done to ensure successful transplant. Lastly, transplant surgery and post-operative care after surgery.
