It can inspire people and unite people because music definitely has the potential to inspire people or individuals to create their own music, for example; raps, poetry, etc. It can also bring people together also because of cultural backgrounds and what the people grew up on, it can help bring them together during times of crisis or danger. Music has changed a lot through generations because if you compare the music back then to the music nowadays, it's completely different. The sound of music has changed as society has changed over the years, thus the change in the sound of music is really a reflection of our cultural evolution. With time, more musical instruments were developed and played together which resulted in more sophisticated and complex sounds being produced. Music is definitely universal because it exists in every society (both with and without words), varies more within than between societies, regularly supports certain types of behavior, and has acoustic features that are systematically related to the goals and responses of singers and listeners.
