How does Frida Kahlo's work reflect her identity? What are some other themes present in her work? (site 1)

Her work is rich with symbolism and are deep reflections of her life and identity. Due to many severe health issues Frida spent a lot of time in her own company and therefore painted what she saw which was herself. In addition everything important that impacted her life from a child to an adult she painted.
