How did the classification of Medieval instruments differ from those of the modern era? A. Medieval instruments were not classified by type of instrument, as modern string instruments are. They were classified only as loud or soft.

B. Medieval Instruments were classified as string instruments by how they were played (bowed, plucked, or struck). Modern string instruments are classified by the way their sound is produced
(using a string that resonates)

C. Medieval string instruments did not all have strings, but modern string instruments do

D. Modern string instruments are classified as strings because they all use a bow to produce sound. Medieval string instruments produced sound by bowing, plucking, or striking the instrument
