Explanation:

 Nick Thomas and Chris Salih, who were former members, left the band in 2011. Thomas left the band to attend college, and Chris left to focus more on his personal life. After Chris left the band, Josh Dun joined the band.

 Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun stuck together, and eventually they started rapidly gaining traction and climbing the ranks.

 Twenty One Pilots is currently working on their sixth album, Scaled and Icy (which spells out 'Clancy is dead' when rearranged). The album will be released May 21, 2021.
