This activity is an exercise in creativity. Think about one or more of the seasons. What inspires or
interests you about this season? Choose something of interest from one or two of the seasons.
For this activity you will need to do each part.
A. Part 1
1. For this activity you will need:
a. at least one piece of paper or poster board or a notebook with plenty of space
to write your poem or short story;
b. a pencil or pen if you are going to write a song, poem, or story; or
c. some watercolors, crayons, colored pencils, or ordinary pencils.
2. Choose your favorite season or seasons. Write down the reasons why this is your
favorite season. Your reasons should explain to people who will view your artwork why
you chose this season. For example, maybe you really like summer because the days
are warm and you can stay outside with your friends longer. Or maybe you prefer
winter because you like cold weather and walking in the snow.
3. Start a sketch or an outline of your subject. This should help make sure that you have
chosen a season that really interests you.
4. Complete your work of art based on your sketches or outline.
B. Part 2
When you have finished your work of art, draw a picture of what Earth looks like in its
